Pastor Jeffrey Sonntag, the oldest child of Kevin and Valerie, was born in 1986 in Milwaukee, WI where his father served as a teacher at North Trinity Lutheran School. Pastor Sonntag attended Wisconsin Lutheran High School and then off to Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN where he received his pre-seminary degree. MLC was also where he met his beautiful wife, Anne.

Anne, the daughter of Pastor Bruce and Kathy Marggraf, was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil where she lived until her family moved to Sussex, WI in 2000. Anne graduated from Luther Prep in Watertown, WI in 2006 and Martin Luther College in 2010 with an elementary education degree.

The Sonntags began their married life in Southeastern Minnesota with Jeff vicaring and Anne teaching kindergarten.  One of the highlights of the year was helping chaperone more than forty teenagers on a mission trip to Seattle, WA, which included a brief stop at Yellowstone National Park. 

Upon graduating from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in 2012, Pastor Sonntag was assigned to serve as a home missionary at Crown of Life Lutheran Church in Cadillac. While in Michigan, Pastor and Anne were blessed with Ellie (9) and Micah (6). In the fall of 2018 they were also blessed with with Caleb.  During his time in Michigan, Pastor also served as a Bible study leader, director and board member for Camp Lor-Ray, a WELS summer youth camp near Muskegon, MI.

Pastor Sonntag enjoys camping, grilling, swimming and playing volleyball, soccer, and pickleball. Anne enjoys running, biking, teaching Zumba, leading our Little Lambs program, playing music and playdates at the park. The Sonntags are excited to join the Shining Mountain family and share Jesus and his love with the people of Bozeman and the surrounding area.
